Ok, so when I say you should watch your diet I am not talking about getting ready for your favourite bikini for your summer holiday. What I am talking about here is eating the right food that will give you the energy you need to cope with hyperactive children, house chores and work!
When you are a busy mum always on the go, it is often easier to eat whatever falls in your hands: two biscuits for the kids and one for me, bread crust from the kids sandwiches because you don’t want to waste it, finishing their plates at dinner because still don’t want to waste it.
All these little things have got a knock on effect on your food diet.
You fill up with little things that give you the impression that you are full and satisfied, but this feeling doesn’t lasts. So you end up grabbing something else quickly to get rid of stomach rumbles. Without realising it you spend all day nibbling. This on one side makes you put on weight and on the other side it can leave you feeling bloated and tired.
In order to have the necessary energy to cope with what lies ahead everyday, you ought to eat well.
It is scientifically proven that eating the right food can:
·
-
Improve your mood
-
Increase your stamina
-
Increase your ability to concentrate and memorise
-
Reduce your stress level
So what do you need to do to make sure you are eating a balanced diet that will provide you with all the nutrients and vitamins you need?
The Food Standards Agency put together 8 tips for eating well. These are:
·
-
Base your meal on starchy food
