Perfectly Happy Mum

More Awards, THANK YOU!!

I am so lucky to have received all of these 2 awards and to receive them from people who greatly deserved them themselves makes it even more special. So thank you to Whistlejacket at Babyrambles and Cartside at Mummy Do That! 

A couple of weeks ago it was with pride and honour that I received this great Meme from Whistlejacket at Babyrambles (thank you again Whistlejacket!!). 

The conditions to receive this award is to list 10 happy memories, so here we go: 

1- The birth of my beautiful baby Elliott. Seeing him for the first time and realising that I DID HAVE A BABY IN MY TUMMY, was one of the most amazing feeling. Gazing at him for hours made me forget all the hard work. 

2- The birth of my beautiful baby Victor. Thank you for making this second labour and birth appear like a walk in the park! I will never forget the warmth and softness of your head when I kissed you for the first time. 

3- Walking down the aisle and seeing my wonderful then to be husband. The way he looked at me filled me with all the reassurance in the world that we were just meant to be. 

4- Finding THE wedding dress. After a long day of visiting 3 shops and trying on 10 dresses, we arrived with my Mother in Law and my Sister in Law to that small shop. Just a few line exchanged with this brilliant shop assistant and she disappeared to reappear in the changing cabin with the most gorgeous dress I had ever seen. It became MY dress! 

5- The day we went to pick up our beautiful dog. We drove all the way from London to Edinburgh and came back with the cuddliest dog in the world. 

6- The crazy parties with my friend Audrey (all of them!). If the mood is right, just one look and we can laugh for England! Thank you Audrey!

7- Being told that I got the job that brought me back to London, the place I loved more than anywhere else. 

8- When Craig told me that he chose me over her... 

9- When my sister called to tell me that she'd just given birth to her twin daughters and going to see them for the first time. 

10- Buying our first house. When the offer was accepted it was scary, exciting and made us feel so GROWN UP!

Meme Awards!!

Just before you start reading you need to know that this post was written on Sunday morning and I only managed to finish it today. The linking can take a hell of a long time! So just imagine it is Sunday (I bet you all want it to be Sunday, don't you?!). 

Today it is Sunday and my lovely husband is taking part in a bike ride, riding from Richmond to Winsor. Yes I know, pretty crazy ins't it?!  

So I am left at home with 2 children living litteraly on the edge: the one of the sofa! E & V won't stop climbing right to the top of it and I am not sure the day won't end up in casualty. So which one of the two is having the craziest day? (I am glad to say that there was no emergency trip however there was a very well trashed lounge...)

Anyway I have decided to be oblivious to the rest of the world and barricaded access to the sofa. The whole lounge looks like a war zone and for some reason they love it even more!

While they are making sure it stays a war zone, I have decided to pass on these awards and take some time to do the assignments that go with it. So here you go.

Ermm, now do you really want to know? Because it can be pretty ugly I have to say and some might even look away in disgust and think "why have I ever read a blog written by someone so... urrghh... I can't even find words!".

It is not all too bad though. So I will start with the good ones so at least you read it all.

So this is me:

I am kind - I love people, I really do and I always try my best to be kind to them. I would never hurt purposefully. I hate witnessing acts of unfairness and nastiness. I would rather turn my back to nastiness than taking part in it. It takes a lot of pushing me to argue or fight, but if I feel that someone is being unfair to me or the ones I love, I can fight a long way.

I am focussed and motivated - when I set myself a goal nothing stands too long in between me and the goal... I am a real Gladiator!! (Tempted to say "Aaaarrrgghh" here, but it might sound like I am a bit of an idiot, doesn't it?)

I am intuitive and I trust my gut feeling more than my reason.

I am anxious and need to be reassured on the health and well being of the ones I love all the time. I have a real fear of losing people.

I am prone to tantrums - eerrrmm, now let's not get into too much details here, because that's where it can get pretty ugly. Let's just say that when a certain time of the months appears, my husband learnt that it is better to just zip it!

I am perfectionist - Oh yes I am, I can't help it! "who left that shoe lying on the rug when it should be put away?!", "Only I do the washing up, noone else does it as well as me!" See? this is annoying me more than the others really...

I like playing the Devil's Advocate - I believe that there is more than one side of the story in each story and I feel I have a moral right to show people that there is other ways to look at things... Ok now THAT is really annoying for others, and THAT is bloody hard for me to control, but I try...

That's was hard. I have under estimated the amount of myself I would have to give away...

Long overdue thank you for all my lovely awards...

This is it, I have finally managed to compile all the great awards I have been given by so many lovely mums. And to them I apologise profusely for being the worst rubbish person to give awards to. I assure you that I am not ungrateful, just terrible at self time management. And would you believe this from someone who teaches others the art of time management? In france we say that the cobbler always wears the worst shoes... I can see why.

So as you can imagine, with all of these awards I did get the tags and assignments that go with it. Unfortunately I am not able to go through all of them at the moment, so I will have to change the rules slightly and decided to say a little something about each blog behind the mums who have been so kind thinking

So here is why I think these blogs are great and why you should follow them:

In no particular order we have:

Maternal Tales from the south coast: Emily is a Supermummy bringing up two little girls with a husband often away for work. Recently she had to deal with 2 trips to A&E on her own, as well as dealing with poo related accident quite a few times. My favourite of all of them is this one. She says she put on 5 stones during her first pregnancy and having met her at the last BMB meeting I can assure you that it has all gone away or if it still there, well there wouldn't be anything left of her should she lose it!

Metropolitan Mum: She gave birth 9 weeks ago to the most beautiful little girl ever (taking after her mum) and she is a gifted illustrator. She tells everyday stories like noone does. She can make you laugh out loud describing labels on baby clothes or make you feel her angst in her baby's birth anticipation, when she felt pushed in a direction she didn't want to take. Entertainment guaranteed!

Home Mum of 2 (3 if you count their dad): Mamapo has left a high flying job to become a full time mum 4 years ago. She has just recently taken on a job as a Pampered Chef reprentative and she is doing brilliantly! As well as raising a family and running her business, she studies to become a nutritionist. The way she write makes it very natural to relate to her life as well as really enjoyable.

Time Management Mum: Nadine is a Mum, a Virtual Assistant and a published author. She wrote the Virtual Assistant Handbook that I have had the privilege to win at a competition. I've received it today and having scanned through the chapters I am very impatient to start reading it properly. It is a handbook that is valuable not only if you want to become a VA but if you are running any business. Highly recommended!

Experimental Mum: Melanie is the science mum, helped by the science sisters Freya and Erynn and together they experience stuff like fart in a jar (that my sons will come to love when they are old enough) and soda fountain and dog biscuits (that my husband would surely love!). I love this blog because I can see it become a great source of entertainment in the years to come!

Clarey Babbling: Mum of 2 and step mum of 1. She is full of life and positive. She has recently returned to work at the end of her maternity leave so she is telling us how it feels so far. What I find most exciting myself is that she can discuss Big Brother with adults! How cool is that?! Her last post on parents being told what to do rather than learning to trust their own instinct is well worth a read. She explains really well how hard it sometime feels when what they tell you to do doesn't work for you.

Baby Baby: Sandy is a mum of 2 boys born within a year of each other and like a lot of mothers she gave up the high flying career to become a full time mum. How she manages to write songs as well? I am not sure! Listen to her Indian Summer song, it really tells how it feels to have left a career to bring up children.

Wife of bold: Just read her introduction and you will probably say the same as me "4 girls under five?!" How does she do it?! Very well apparently! Look at her 2 little girls playing Britney and Paris and see how gorgeous they are. She is funny and reading her blog is a pleasure.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone and I promise to get better at forwarding awards so don't stop sending some this way!
