One of my favourite blogger on the blogosphere, I name Brit In Bosnia started her own Meme the "Stories and Songs Meme".
When she tagged me I thought "Brilliant another reason to showcast some more cheesy music!".
She knows I love music! All sorts of music as long as there is something happening within me when I listen to it. It is often indescribable, it is an emotion, a memory or a feeling that surfaces when I listen to certain types of music. Music is a big part of my life and I used to sing all the time knowing the lyrics of every song on the radio. People at work used to throw all sorts of stationery at me to make me zip it because I would be singing along with the radio all day long... That was harsh because I am not such a bad singer either!
Now things have changed. I no longer know the songs on the radio, on the other hand I am always spot on on the kids programs lyrics and my children do not throw objects at me to stop singing, they clap and encourage me. It feels like this to be Beyonce then pfwoar I want to be her!
It is not just the melody that is important to me, the lyrics are as important. I know some people don't pay attention to the lyrics of a song and that seems weird to me. It is like reading poetry without making sense of it.
I have always been attached to the songs lyrics. Actually I learnt English mainly reading the lyrics of my favourite songs and making sense of them with mini French/English dictionary on hand.
So when we came to pick our wedding song I wanted it to be perfect. It had to fit with the day, the vows and how we felt. Craig is totally deprived of musical ear. I mean it EXACTLY like this! So when it came to the song choice it was MY job. Otherwise we would have ended up with Dario G or something like this.
The year before we got married the number one wedding song was James Blunt "You're Beautiful". Is there anyone else thinking that it is probably one of the worst choice for a WEDDING SONG! The guy saw a girl in the tube, fell in love with her, she was with another man, she didn't want him because she thought he was a weirdo she wasn't single anyway and he realises that they will never be together so he commits suicide in the video clip ... Hardly a perfect love song isn't it? More a tortured love song not really the type I wanted at my wedding.
So one day I heard that one and BANG it was THE ONE! Perfect lyrics, perfect melody, perfect for our wedding day! And very cheesy too!
And because I am not too sure who hasn't been tagged on that one, I would like to open it to whoever would like to take part. It is really fun and don't forget to mention Brit In Bosnia! Enjoy !
